Education is no longer limited to visiting school and studying from the textbooks

During this pandemic COVID-19, it has become extensively complicated on the part of educationalists to keep the sanctity of academicia. We are facing many challenges these days as online teaching and learning is at rife. Teachers are the cornerstone of any civilized society as they are a pivotal part of shaping the future of children at a very tender age. However, under the current circumstances, teachers themselves have become learners as they continue to explore new methodology to teach the students, which can be a challenging and strenuous task. Nevertheless, despite the challenges, every passing day it is becoming easier for them as well to adapt to the new tech-savvy ways of disseminating knowledge. One of the major reasons for the same is that the students and parents are not only starting to accept the new normal but also getting in tune with the technological advancements that they themselves might not have explored otherwise. 

We are often told (and this is something we also learn every day through our experiences) that change is the only constant. Even though the essence of the role of a teacher has not changed a bit but the ways are certainly distinct and evidently transformed. At times, it is hard to impart education through online mediums as there are various challenges such as technical failures, students’ absence, lack of resources and other interruptions. However, the determination that we hold today and the bar of anticipation towards bringing a new world education is not a remote possibility anymore. We are delving into something not touched yet, something not explored much, something that is unexpected and unpredictable.

Students are getting ample opportunities to go beyond the textbooks and expand learning to a new level where there are no limitations to knowledge, and that too, through multiple media which are the likes of YouTube. Online apps have also received a boost like Skype, Zoom app, Jitsy app, etc. Smart class content has now been redefined and reshaped. 

In this process of re-strategizing and re-establishing education, we are looking forward to a better system that is going to enable students become liberated and self-independent. This tech-prone world is lending a great opportunity to cater to the much better possibilities in the near future. There is an ease and accessibility found for parents and teachers to connect as well. New lessons begin for the parent as well as the move towards technological advancements to get more involved in their child/children’s education. They are able to be completely in loop about the same; we can firmly say that they are undergoing online learning as well. 

The entire teaching community is working hard to bring about a better tomorrow and I feel immensely proud and privileged to be in the profession of academicia.
