Bharti Airtel Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises was set up in the year 2000 with a vision, ‘To help underprivileged children and youth of our country realize their potential.’ The Foundation works in the space of holistic quality education in rural India with a special focus on the girl child; and also supports Higher Education programs in partnership with premier institutions. Since 2006, the flagship, Satya Bharti School Program has been providing free quality education to thousands of underprivileged children in 164 schools in rural India across four states.
At present nearly 36,000 children are enrolled in Satya Bharti Schools of which over 50% are girl students. The impact of quality education has been widened by transferring the learning and good practices of this program to more than 3.7 lakh students studying in 888 partnering government schools across 12 States/UTs, through Quality Support Program (QSP), since 2013.
In addition, Bharti Airtel Foundation was invited by several education officers at district and state level to scale up some of the initiatives through QSP State Partnerships. The Foundation has been able to impact over 3 million children in a meaningful manner through its education programs since inception.
Bharti Airtel Scholarship
Bharti Airtel Foundation aims to create opportunities for economically weaker students with a special focus on girls to become future technology leaders. To achieve this goal, a Merit cum Means-Based scholarship program has been designed for deserving students.

To create opportunities for young individuals from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds and to support them to become future technology leaders.
Scholarship with a Difference
- Scholarships are for the full duration of the UG courses including integrated courses for up to 5 years (subject to meeting the renewal criteria as detailed in subsequent sections).
- Scholarship covers 100% of college fees as per the course fee structure of the respective institute.
- The hostel, and mess fees shall be given to all eligible students who apply for it.
- A provision of laptop for all Bharti Scholars (responsibility for the safety/security will be with the student. No replacements will be provided).
- Bharti Scholars will be encouraged to support at least 1 student on a continuous basis, voluntarily, once they graduate & are subsequently gainfully employed.
Eligibility Criteria
- Confirmed admission or enrolled in first year under UG and integrated courses (up to 5 years) in fields of Electronics & Communication, Telecom, Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Data Sciences, and Emerging Technologies (AI, IoT, AR/VR, Machine Learning, Robotics) at the top 50 National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) (Engineering) colleges.
- Must be a citizen and resident of India.
- Family annual income from all sources should not exceed INR 8.5 Lakh.
- Preference shall be given to girl students.
- The candidate shall not be a recipient of any other scholarship/grants for the same purposes as being supported by Bharti Airtel Foundation.
Selection Criteria
The selection of the candidates will be based on the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria and assessment parameters as established by Bharti Airtel Foundation.
