Satya Bharti School Program

Tamil Nadu

With the objective of transforming rural children into educated, confident, responsible and self-reliant employable citizens of the country, Bharti Foundation launched the Satya Bharti School Program in Tamil Nadu in the year 2009.

Under the program, currently, nine schools are functional in the villages of Sivaganga district.

Over 2,000 children are currently being provided free and quality education in these schools. As most of these children are first generation learners in their families, the schools emphasize on providing an environment conducive to each one’s holistic development. This includes a range of co-curricular activities, such as annual cultural celebrations, bal sabhas, house activities, language weeks, excursions, external competitions and more.

Alongside the regular academic curriculum, the Satya Bharti School Program in Tamil Nadu also focuses on instilling a sense of social involvement among the children through various community development campaigns. Over the years, students have addressed many social issues, such as empowerment of the girl child, water conservation, road safety, cleanliness, environment protection, etc.
