In 2013, to realize its objective to support government schools become happy, holistic institutions of learning, Bharti Foundation, in collaboration with state governments, initiated the Quality Support Program.
The Program is constructed around the core philosophy of making schools engaging spaces by enabling students acquire leadership, communication, collaboration, and other skills to develop holistically. The Program is designed to impact students, teachers, parents as well as administrators through a standardized, flexibly implemented approach, in order to transform schools into vibrant and happy learning centers through co-scholastic interventions, ultimately developing a self-sustaining model, driven by students, teachers and the community.
Good practices of Satya Bharti Schools are implemented in each school with the purpose of institutionalizing these in a time frame of three to five years. The Program’s framework is structured around the whole-school approach through co-scholastic activities defined under four program pillars. Each school decides the pace and trajectory depending on the School leader’s vision for bringing about a sustainable change.
Under the Quality Support Program, Bharti Foundation works along with Government schools, its leadership and teachers, to support them in articulating and achieving their goals towards creating better schooling experience for their students. The program is developed around the principle of building on the existing wealth of knowledge among teachers, their passion for teaching and the success of their students...
Bharti Foundation initiates a dialogue and continuously evokes aspirations, identify needs, ways to bridge critical gaps and set goals to develop schools into institutions of learning and nurturing for the all-round growth of students. The program adopts a two-pronged approach to facilitate the desired change. It optimizes on the existing strengths and provides catalytic support to bridge gaps identified by the schools’ leadership team, ensuring that the schools experience success by building on their own capabilities and motivation.
The Program is led by a trained mentor over a cluster of 10-15 schools. The mentor’s key role is to help the school create a road map of changes – provide technical advice/school processes for improvement and facilitate activities by motivating teachers and students.
The Schools experience impact in terms of:
Clarity of vision and goals lead to introduction of new activities/processes in schools with teachers taking charge. Teachers feel energized because of students’ interest in school activities which flows into classroom interactions also. Engaged teachers result in better teaching with many experimenting with innovative tools.
Better exposure through participation in competitions would result in increased confidence and self-belief in students and better leadership skills, eventually leading to school’s overall improvement. Motivated students aspire for a better future and work towards it.
Donation of resources towards school infrastructure, new activities are experienced along with improved participation of parents in school management (SMC).
Greener and creative artworks by the students to create a vibrant school environment is ensured and facilities like labs, libraries, toilets etc are revived and made functional.
