August, 2020: In three districts of Haryana namely Mahendragarh, Jhajjar and Rewari, the Satya Bharti Schools’ students, their parents and teachers have taken an initiative to make masks for donation. They have planned to distribute the masks within their communities to the lesser privileged families who cannot afford to buy the necessary supplies to prevent themselves from the novel coronavirus. One lot of masks is also being reserved to be distributed among the underprivileged students when the schools resume. Together, they are also initiating many awareness campaigns to enlighten the community members about the importance of using masks and how wearing masks can safeguard not only the person wearing it but also those around us. Guidance on how to make masks at home is also being given to the community.
The students, parents and teachers enthusiastically partook in the activity. With 1475 masks from Jhajjar, 2668 masks from Rewari and 1679 masks from Mahendragarh, a sum total of over 5800 masks have already been made, with the number still growing.
