Abhishek

13 year old Abhishek is the student of VIII class from GSSS Chhota Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (a partner Government school under the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program). GSSS Chhota Shimla is among the oldest and most prestigious schools of Himachal Pradesh. Many shining stars of the community have pursued their education from this school.

Abhishek is the youngest among the brothers and sisters. His father is working as a security guard in the Bharti Airtel office located in Kasumpti, Shimla and is the only earning member of the family. He works hard to make ends meet for his family of eight.

In 2018, Abhishek took admission in GSSS Chhota Shimla in Class VI. He has been an active student on co-curricular front. He participated in many co-curricular activities. He took a keen interest in yoga and started practicing the art under the guidance of his PTI teacher Mr. Jagdish Tanta.

In class VI, Abhishek started the journey of pursuing his dream of teaching India’s oldest science of happiness and fitness. He participated in Yoga competition at the District-level. He started devoting more time and efforts towards yoga, along with his studies. In class VII, Abhiskek achieved his next milestone by participating in Yoga competition at the National-level in Kolkata Organized by AIS (All India School Yoga).

Abhishek is an active members of the Science club. Various activities conducted in the club helped him in building determination and self-confidence.

“Abhishek’s success was possible because of the combined efforts of Principal ma’am and the entire team, who believed in him, supported him and stood alongside in every situation,” said Abhishek’s father.

Someday, Abhishek wants to grow up to become a Yoga Teacher.

Job Description Academic Mentor

  • To support School Heads / Principals and strengthen the curriculum planning, delivery and class room transaction process for improved effectiveness.
  • To optimize usage and improvement of school’s infrastructure and facilities especially working toilets, functional library, computer labs, Science labs and energized classrooms.
  • To activate critical processes such as sports, drawing and other student cantered activities and events.
  • To smoothen academic operations throughout the year and also non-academic operations viz sports day, annual day, republic day, community volunteering, PTM etc.
  • To support teachers through interactive sessions.
  • To conduct subject wise week in schools for Science, English and Math linked with the annual curriculum.
  • To extend technical support to teachers on subject specific skills.
  • To support on difficult concepts and conduct specific need-based refresher training.
  • To extending support in planning the entire academic year including curriculum rollout, remedial, assessments and processes for ongoing monitoring and mentoring.
  • Candidates should aware about local language.
