22nd March 2021: Satya Bharti Schools of West Bengal celebrated World Water Day with the aim to create awareness about the importance of freshwater amongst the students, parents and community members. The event was attended virtually by students as well as parents.
World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance day that is held on the 22nd of March to raise awareness on the importance of water for the planet. The day is used to highlight the need for the Sustainable Management of freshwater resources, access to water, hygiene facilities and sanitation all across the world.
The teachers of Satya Bharti Schools in West Bengal narrated the importance of the day to the students and enlightened them about the current water crisis, where 600 million people are living without a pure drinking water supply. The teachers and students celebrated this day in virtual mode by speech giving competitions on the topic of ‘How to control wastage of water’ and drawing competition on the topic of ‘Saving water’. The students participated in the competitions enthusiastically.
