An ideal school environment is the key to develop children’s cognitive skills and help them grow holistically. In Satya Bharti Schools, celebrating events and festivals has become an essential component of learning and enhancing students’ national and cultural awareness.
On 2nd October 2021, the Bharti Foundation’s Satya Bharti schools in rural India celebrated the birth anniversaries of two great leaders – Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri to bring awareness of their values and principles among the children.
183 Satya Bharti Schools of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal participated in various events and activities. The focus was on Swachhata, awareness of COVID-19 safety protocols, and COVID-19 appropriate behavior.
The School Swachhata and Hygiene Committee (SSHEI) involved 1830 students as members. 15,215 students took the Swachhata Pledge to encourage everyone to take the necessary steps to ensure cleaner and greener surroundings. Various activities and competitions such as letter-writing, painting, essay writing, and quiz were organized to keep the children engaged.
The celebrations created an uplifting, engaging, and joyous day for the students and teachers. Schools were decorated with artwork made by the children to give a lively school environment.
Mitigating the challenges posed by COVID-19, Bharti Foundation has been taking various initiatives to promote and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the schools. Activities on important days such as Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti ensure that our students continue to grow holistically.
