Community People Build School’s Boundary Wall

February, 2020: The Primary School in Babhnoli, Uttar Pradesh had no boundary walls, which led to a lot of inconveniences. While it became a safety concern for children studying in the school, stray animals intruding the compound during school hours caused distractions among the young students. The matter was of nuisance to the children as well as the school staff. This matter was brought to the attention of the villagers and the Sarpanch by Bharti Foundation team; their assistance in the matter was requested.

Soon enough, many community members got together and settled on the decision of investing their time, labor and resources into building a bamboo fencing around the school. More and more people from the community joined by donating bamboo and investing time of their day into fencing the school boundary.

When many determined people come together to accomplish something of a greater good, the force becomes a source of transformation. The problem of improper boundary wall of the school was soon solved with this initiative led by Bharti Foundation, with the efforts of the community members. The estimated cost of fencing turned out to be about Rs 5,000.

Sunil Kumar Singh, BEO Jakhaniya appreciated Bharti Foundation and the community members for their efforts.
