Convoke 2019 – deliberating research for driving school excellence in India

December 2019, Mohali: Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, in association with Bharti Institute of Public Policy at Indian School of Business convened its pan India conference series ‘Convoke 2019’ at Mohali.

Theme for the fifth Convoke was ‘School Excellence – Preparing for the future’. The conference registered the presence of over 150 experts and policymakers from the reputed institutions like NCERT, Group Ignus, Sambodhi Research and Communication, and Indian School of Business along with principals and teachers from government schools/colleges of education in rural India. The conference witnessed research based paper presentations, discussions and exchange of ideas on three broad areas – policy framework and systemic support, importance of school leadership towards delivering the holistic education and role of technology for driving excellence in the rural schools. Sambodhi Research and Communication, jury partner, led the rigorous exercise of selecting the papers and giving feedback to the speakers for improving the content.

Convoke, a Bharti Foundation initiative, is a conference series designed to address challenges in imparting education and strengthening its quality, with a special focus on rural India. A forum for academic discussions, collaborations and intellectual exchanges for all those interested in academic research and practice including principals, teachers, academicians and educationists working at the grassroots. Convoke conferences in the past were held in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Jodhpur
