Digitizing education during lockdown

April, 2020: Bharti Foundation is making continued efforts in collaboration with partner Army Goodwill Schools to ensure a steady momentum of engaging teachers and students with studies during lockdown. The approach to support partner schools has been the following:

  • Supporting Principals and teachers in connecting with parents of the students by formation of WhatsApp groups, with an objective of keeping parents engaged with the education of their child/children
  • Sharing information on online resources recommended by the Government as well as through other free resources
  • Supporting teachers by guiding/training on the use of online resources and methods
  • Supporting teachers in reaching out to parents and involving them in their child/children’s education schedule during the ‘stay-at-home’ period
  • Creating opportunities for students to participate in activities for their holistic learning and development

Initiatives under the program during lockdown:

  • Head of Institutions and teachers were supported to get connected with the students amidst lockdown through social media, phone calls etc. In this regard, WhatsApp groups have been created to support 500+ teachers with the information about online study and training material, competitions and good practices.
  • To help teacher fraternity make optimum use of E-learning technology and enhance their professional skills, a virtual training on Teaching Learning Material (TLM) for Effective Classroom Management was conducted. This training not only helped teachers to make innovative and engaging TLM but also make efficient use of it to make the virtual classroom transactions more interesting and vibrant.
  • Orientation workshop on How to use ‘Ticklinks‘ – an online virtual platform, was conducted for teachers.
  • Series of online workshops on Goal Setting, Time Management, Tackling Procrastination and Stress Management were conducted for teachers, with an objective equip identified teachers with effective training skills so that they reach out to school students with these modules through online / in school training sessions .
  • Satya Bharti Skill Fest was launched where students participated in various competitions like Calligraphy , Poster Making , Best Out of Waste , Slogan Writing & Creative Writing. This was done to ensure holistic development of the children while being at home.

Job Description Academic Mentor

  • To support School Heads / Principals and strengthen the curriculum planning, delivery and class room transaction process for improved effectiveness.
  • To optimize usage and improvement of school’s infrastructure and facilities especially working toilets, functional library, computer labs, Science labs and energized classrooms.
  • To activate critical processes such as sports, drawing and other student cantered activities and events.
  • To smoothen academic operations throughout the year and also non-academic operations viz sports day, annual day, republic day, community volunteering, PTM etc.
  • To support teachers through interactive sessions.
  • To conduct subject wise week in schools for Science, English and Math linked with the annual curriculum.
  • To extend technical support to teachers on subject specific skills.
  • To support on difficult concepts and conduct specific need-based refresher training.
  • To extending support in planning the entire academic year including curriculum rollout, remedial, assessments and processes for ongoing monitoring and mentoring.
  • Candidates should aware about local language.
