Amritpal Kaur, an alumna of Bharti Foundation’s Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Jhaneri, Punjab, has recently been appointed as Assistant Branch Post Master in the Barnala district of Punjab. Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, has 183 schools under its Satya Bharti School Program, including five Senior Secondary schools in Punjab.
Her story of grit and perseverance is inspiring as well as heartening. Amritpal’s father worked hard as a farmer and ensured that his children continued to study. He toiled for hours earning a livelihood for the family.
In school, Amritpal was meticulous, active in co-curricular activities, took up leadership as the Head Girl, and was very focused on her goal. She always wanted to work as a government employee. After securing 90.2% in class XII Board Examination, she pursued humanities. With good results in her graduation, today she is serving as an Assistant Branch Post Master. Amritpal is extremely proud to shoulder the responsibility of her family and has debunked the myth that defines girls as less capable than boys.
Congratulating Amritpal, Mamta Saikia, CEO, Bharti Foundation said, “We believe that every child has the potential to excel. Access to quality education, proper guidance and encouragement play a crucial role in a child’s development and achievements. We emphasize on the holistic development of our students to help them overcome any challenges and transform into good human beings and role models for society at large. Amritpal Kaur has made us extremely proud of her achievement. At Bharti Foundation, we have always given special emphasis on girl child and this a true validation of our efforts “.
