Aazam, a student of GBSSS SU Block, Pitampura, Delhi, had innate abilities but did not get any opportunities to showcase and explore his talent. Class 10th student Aazam comes from a middle class family, was an introvert and received average marks in academics. He was often found doodling in his notes books and was less attentive and under confident in class. He rarely participated in any school activities except art activities conducted occasionally in school.
Aazam participated in class art activity (during one of the library activity supported by Bharti Foundation) and was executing it with intentness. There, he was identified and his previous performance in different activities was discussed with HoS and concerned teachers.
Bharti Foundation’s academic mentor and concerned teachers got aware about Aazam’s interest area that is ‘Art’ by asking him directly for the first time. Attention was given to this detail and curated activities in alignment with school activities’ calendar for him.
Aazam along with other students was given knowledge about other art styles by Bharti Foundation’s intervention in support with school art in-charge. Library in-charge explained the integration of art in education and the ways to balance between art and other academic subjects.
Initially, after joining the club, Aazam started participating actively in club. He got awarded by his work from Bharti Foundation which motivated him to learn and grow in his passion. Later on, he got an opportunity to conduct club meeting and shared his ideas and become active club member. Post working for some months, he now has become a proud president of the club.
