Aditya Raj Dey is studying in the sixth grade of UMS Jamnipaharpur Hindi. He is the single child of Mahendra Lal Dey who owns a small shop, and Rita Kumari who is the house maker. With Mahendra being the sole bread earner of the family, they have been facing economic difficulties.
Things weren’t quite easy for Aditya when they shifted to the village and he joined the School. He had potential; however, it didn’t quite seem to match the academics, skills and extracurricular participation when he first joined the school. The first challenge that came his way was linguistic as he was not at all proficient with his English-language skills and his Hindi was also not up to the mark. This did not only affect his education but also made it difficult for him to communicate with his peers. When the teachers observed a level of hesitation while teaching, they started to motivate him and keep his morale up, establishing a great degree of trust.
Aditya felt empowered and took upon the opportunities that came his way. He strived to work hard, for which he was much appreciated. Eventually, he came up to level with his classmates. His English too improved along with his written Hindi.
Mathematics came as a challenge too. As there was a gap in previous classes, he found it challenging to understand the basic concepts. However, with his commitment and hard work, he surpassed all barrier with flying colours.
Soon enough, his diligence paved way for him to achieve 1st position in class. Aditya was not only excelling at academics, he was exploring new horizons in extracurricular activities and community leadership. A once shy Aditya was is an example to others for growth and confidence. He takes initiative in helping younger students and takes responsibilities for the team, along with managing the maximum functions at school.
Aditya has become an idol for many of his peers now. His aim in life is to become a District Collector someday and serve the country.
