Highlights of the year 2018-19

In 2016, Bharti Foundation partnered with the Government of Telangana to enhance the quality of education delivered in the government schools in the state. Under its Satya Bharti Quality Support Program, Bharti Foundation started its work in 15 schools, eventually expanding the program to 35 more schools in subsequent years. The Foundation’s partnership with 50 Govt. Schools in Telangana is currently helping enhance the overall school experience for 9000+ students and 450+ teachers.

Following are the highlights from the year 2018-19:

  • 277 Students’ clubs are active in 50 schools, with 50% of Girls participation and in leadership roles.
  • 2004 students participated in external competitions. Winning awards has increased compared to last year. Significantly, 5 students won national level Inspire Aspire.
  • 2 Schools have participated in State Level Inspire Awards
  • A group of students (ZPHS Obulapoor) has won Bronze Medal in the PRAMERICA Spirit of Community Awards 2019, for community awareness on voting.
  • 236 lecture series and workshops were organized in 42 schools covering nearly 7000 students on various topics related to life skills, science experimentation etc.
  • 19 teachers’ won Best Teacher Awards at district and national level from DoE GoTS.
  • More than 45 schools have taken part in the events of Swachata Hi Sewa in September 2018.
  • 4 Schools received the Swacch Vidyalaya awards at district level for AY 2017-18
  • 23 Schools submitted the Students’ Projects for the Design For Change for AY 2018-19
  • 1 School has gone to the final level of Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL)
  • 3 independent reviews have been conducted by School Education Department so far. A 5 members committee comprising of expert teachers was constituted by the School Education Department, to evaluate the impact of Quality Support Program which is being implemented by Bharti Foundation in 50 schools spread in 6 Mandals. For this evaluation study, 15 schools were visited and its programs in academic session 2018-19 were reviewed by the Committee. The Evaluation Committee has come up with detailed report. However, the key finding has been summed up as “the Quality Support Program has very good positive impact on schools and education and it is very much required to be expanded to the entire district.”

Job Description Academic Mentor

  • To support School Heads / Principals and strengthen the curriculum planning, delivery and class room transaction process for improved effectiveness.
  • To optimize usage and improvement of school’s infrastructure and facilities especially working toilets, functional library, computer labs, Science labs and energized classrooms.
  • To activate critical processes such as sports, drawing and other student cantered activities and events.
  • To smoothen academic operations throughout the year and also non-academic operations viz sports day, annual day, republic day, community volunteering, PTM etc.
  • To support teachers through interactive sessions.
  • To conduct subject wise week in schools for Science, English and Math linked with the annual curriculum.
  • To extend technical support to teachers on subject specific skills.
  • To support on difficult concepts and conduct specific need-based refresher training.
  • To extending support in planning the entire academic year including curriculum rollout, remedial, assessments and processes for ongoing monitoring and mentoring.
  • Candidates should aware about local language.
