This is the story of a girl, Nagita. Even though she always had big dreams and aspirations, she often felt under confident and unsure about being able to realizing them. Nagita was born in the year 2002 in Jandwala Bhime Shah. She lives in a family of four – her father, mother and sister. Nagita’s family had been facing financial constraints, her father being the sole bread earner of the family.
Nagita started her schooling in Sarkari Primary School. Later, she completed from class VI to Class X education from the all girls’ Government School of her village, followed by her XI and XII from Sarkari Senior Secondary School.
In the year 2017, when Nagita had just begun her Class XI, Bharti Foundation introduced the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program in Jandwala Bhime Shah. The new ‘Proud India’ club introduced in the school attracted Nagita and soon, she became the student President of the club. In the first meeting, Nagita opened up about her concerns – she shared with her club members about her family’s financial condition, her under confidence and her worry that she might not be able to pursue higher education. She said that she wanted to get up on a stage and address the spectators but the moment she goes on a stage, she freezes. Bharti Foundation, with the help of the school management decided to help Nagita get the confident she needed to achieve her goals.
Nagita started participating in various events organized at the college and started taking active part in her club meetings, which gave her the boost she needed. The following year, on the occasion of Swami Vivekanand’s Birth Anniversary, Nagita was given the responsibility to handle the stage on her own. She fought her fears and came out with flying colours that day.
The board exams of Class XII were no exception, where Nagita scored 90% and made everyone proud. Her sister Sunita couldn’t pursue education after Class XII because of financial constraints in the family. While Nagita became an inspiration for many, she also inspired Sunita to continue with her education.
Nagita was determined to be independent and support her family financially. When she received a monetary reward for scoring exceptionally well in her Class XII, she decided to invested this money into getting herself enrolled into a B. Ed. College.
Nagita is now a volunteering teacher in Sarkari Primary School, Jandwala Bhime Shah, while pursuing B. Ed. Someday, she wants to be a teacher and educate children because she believes education can change lives for good for anyone and everyone.
