This story is about one of Bharti Foundation’s partnering Government Schools under the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program – the State Senior Secondary School Bhilo Kukdo Ki Dhaani, Jatisara, Jodhpur. The area of Jodhpur is mostly dry and deserted due to no or less rain and no vegetation.
The students of Subhash and Kalam House of the School noticed that the school ground was on a very vast piece of land but without any flora. They discussed the issue within themselves and brought their concerns to the attention of the School Management as well as Bharti Foundation representatives.
Bharti Foundation member Mr Ramavtar came up with a brilliant idea and asked all the students to bring one empty water bottle each. He asked them to plant seeds alongside one water bottle each so that there is no water wastage yet the plants receive their proper requirement.
Every child joined hands in making this process successful. They involved the community members for the arrangement of plants and seeds. All of the plants, on receiving nutrients, water and care, blossomed into healthy plants over time.
Today, the School is nurturing greenery. The success story of the children was also appreciated by other Schools’ management teams and the village Panchayat.
