Mamta Saikia

Mamta Saikia is the Chief Executive Officer of Bharti Foundation, the development arm of Bharti Enterprises, one of India’s leading business groups with interests in telecom, agri business, financial services, retail, realty, and communication & media devices.

As the CEO of Bharti Foundation, Mamta plays a key role in project expansion and enhancement of quality standards and system efficiency, while constantly keeping the team morale high to deliver their best in challenging circumstances. She leads the development of the organization and its education programs at primary, elementary and senior secondary standards. Through her experience, clear vision and strategic thinking, she has also been able to establish a successful and replicable model of Public Private Partnership.

Mamta has worked with her team to transfer the learnings and good practices of the Satya Bharti School Program to Government Schools through the Satya Bharti Quality Support Program. The program envisages improving the quality of schooling through need-based interventions in government schools to take them on the path of excellence.

Mamta started her career as a management consultant after completing her Post Graduation Diploma in Business Management. She then moved to CRY – Child Rights & You. In her tenure of nine years at CRY, Mamta held various prestigious positions including Member of the Management Committee, Head – Resource Mobilization and Head – Global Operations. Before joining Bharti Foundation, Mamta worked extensively on the issues of disability, animal rights, women’s issues and HIV AIDS. She has served as the Chair of SAFRG, an Indian NGO working towards training other NGOs. She has been on the Board of Resource Alliance, a UK based organization working globally in the area of capacity building.

Mamta has recently been honoured in the 100 Women Achievers of India, an initiative by the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), Govt. of India. All women achievers were felicitated by the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee on January 22, 2016. She has been honored among 2019 Class of Influential Leaders by AACSB International – the world’s largest business education alliance. Under her leadership, Bharti Foundation also bagged the ‘Hurun India CSR and Philanthropy Award 2019’ at its very first edition. She has also been awarded the Karmaveer Puraskaar – National Citizen Awards for Social Justice and Action for her contribution to the field of development and corporate social responsibility. She authored a book titled “Money matters…People Too” which is based on the issue of self-reliance in the Indian NGO sector and was released in Germany in June 2005.

Job Description Academic Mentor

  • To support School Heads / Principals and strengthen the curriculum planning, delivery and class room transaction process for improved effectiveness.
  • To optimize usage and improvement of school’s infrastructure and facilities especially working toilets, functional library, computer labs, Science labs and energized classrooms.
  • To activate critical processes such as sports, drawing and other student cantered activities and events.
  • To smoothen academic operations throughout the year and also non-academic operations viz sports day, annual day, republic day, community volunteering, PTM etc.
  • To support teachers through interactive sessions.
  • To conduct subject wise week in schools for Science, English and Math linked with the annual curriculum.
  • To extend technical support to teachers on subject specific skills.
  • To support on difficult concepts and conduct specific need-based refresher training.
  • To extending support in planning the entire academic year including curriculum rollout, remedial, assessments and processes for ongoing monitoring and mentoring.
