Robotics Lab launched in Bharti Airtel Foundation’s Senior Secondary School in Punjab
Bharti Airtel Foundation partnered with Ericsson to inaugurate “The Robotic Lab” at Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Jhaneri, Punjab. The lab will benefit the underprivileged students from Class IV to Class VIII and further stimulate their interest in science and technology.
The program aims to introduce these students to the world of digital technology by improving their general understanding as well as providing hands-on experience in programming and digital tools. With Ericsson’s ICT technology, this program will provide knowledge in the areas of new technologies, coding, programming and robotics among others.
Mamta Saikia, Chief Executive Officer, Bharti Airtel Foundation says: “Use of robotics in the classroom has proven to be a consistent and surefire way to teach students the required skills needed to prepare them for the future job market. Robotics at the school is now a significant part of learning that improves the analytical skills of students. I would like to thank Ericsson for partnering with us in this initiative and provide this exciting learning opportunity to the underprivileged students that they would not have access to otherwise.”
Heather Johnson, Head of Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility, Ericsson, says: “Ericsson is committed to improving educational opportunities for young students around the world through the use of ICT. The program with Bharti Airtel Foundation aims to inspire and equip children to approach technology and problem-solving by creating an open atmosphere for learning, where instructors share their enthusiasm for STEM, thus inspiring children to participate in future technological studies.
