The story of Sahil Banwala sets the perfect example of the saying ‘Success comes to those who work hard to achieve’. Sahil was born in 2001 to Sube Singh (farmer) and Mukesh Devi (housemaker) in Karora, Kaithal. Determined to get Sahil educated, Sube Singh rode to drop him to the school on a bicycle every morning and picked him up every afternoon.
Sahil was enrolled into the Satya Bharti School, Karora in class II in the year 2008. He had always been a brilliant student who outperformed in scholastic as well as co-scholastic fields. He had always been passionate about playing Kabaddi and pursued it with all his heart. Under his leadership, the school’s Kabaddi team won two trophies at cluster-level competitions as well.
After passing class VII, he took admission in Kalavati Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Pai; later, in Class X, got enrolled into Saraswati Senior Secondary School, Pai. He scored 90% marks in class X exams (Board of School Education Bhiwani Haryana) and 84% marks in class XII exams. Sahil was selected for the State-level Kabaddi Team, Haryana. His team bagged the gold medal in State-level Kabaddi Tournament held at Panchkula, Haryana.
With a passion to serve his country, Sahil had always aspired to join the Indian Air Force, and to achieve that aspiration, he worked day in and day out. He gave the exam for Indian Air Force in December, 2019 and qualified for further rounds.
Sahil is now preparing for his final rounds of selection process in the IAF. His is the example of dedication and determination that inspires students to dream, makes everyone proud and keeps us aiming higher and higher for our children.
