Kuldeep’s parents couldn’t get him treated for almost a month when he got his leg severely injured, owing to extreme poverty. After a month when he was taken to a hospital, doctors recommended him to get his leg amputated. Kuldeep denied, and started to look for alternative ways to recover from it.His unwavering determination and grit helped him heal faster. A few years later, Kuldeep lost his father due to drug addiction. His mother, who was suffering from respiratory problems, also left the world soon after.
Kuldeep, with his two little siblings, shifted his village and started to live with his grandmother. Kuldeep not only fought with his physical enfeeblement but also dealt with this huge loss and strove to make his way through 10th Board Exams with 70% marks. His mother’s last words, “never do drugs” and “you matter” continues to reverberate in his mind.
