Tanu

Tanu (Alumna, Satya Bharti School, Bakhtari, Sangrur, Punjab) was born in Punjab to Jaswinder Singh and Anju Devi. Jaswinder Singh (Tanu’s father), who works as a driver, is the sole bread earner of a family of five.

When Tanu got enrolled in the Satya Bharti School, Bhakhtari, she was a shy girl. Her focus had always been her education. She was very intelligent and with big dreams and high aspirations, Tanu studied hard to achieve success in her life.

Tanu idolizes her elder sister and just like her, she also aspired to get admission into the Jawahar Navodya Vidhyala. However, she didn’t qualify the entrance exam. Shattered and heartbroken, she had become depressed. This is when Tanu’s father contacted the teachers at her current School.

Tanu’s teachers motivated her and encouraged her to keep working hard. They organized counselling sessions for her, asked her to keep her hope alive and guided her towards achieving her goals.  Soon, Tanu qualified her entrance exam for admission into the Government Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Balad Khurd. However, she didn’t just stop there. She kept studying harder and harder and gave more entrance examinations along with her routine education, until, she qualified for admission into the Meritorious School.

Currently, Tanu is studying in class IX of the Meritorious Senior Secondary School, Talwara, Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Someday, she wants to grow up to be a pilot.
