The beginning of sustainability in Mandal Parishad Primary School Veernapally

MPPS Veernapally is one of the partnered government schools under Bharti Foundation’s Satya Bharti Quality Support Program, located in the village of Veernapally, a Mandal Head Quarter in Rajanna Sircilla District, Telangana. The village is known for its picturesqueness. The sound of peacocks and the view of ponds, create a surreal view en route MPPS Veernapally . 

Bharti Foundation has been supporting the school since 2016 with an objective of transforming it into vibrant and happy learning space through co-scholastic interventions, ultimately developing a self-sustaining model, driven by students, teachers and the community. Bharti Foundation implemented its program in the school for five years, working alongside its leadership and teachers, supporting them in articulating and achieving their goals towards creating better schooling experience for their students. The program focused on four key pillars: student empowerment, school leadership and teachers’ engagement, parents and community involvement and school environment.  

After the successful implementation and conclusion of the program, the Head of MPPS Veernapally Mr. Bhukya Gajan happily accounted the school processes and assured the Foundation team that every process would be taken forward He invited the Foundation’s team to continue visiting the school. His words motivated the teachers of the school to share their thoughts about the journey.

Words of the teachers:

“The collaboration with Bharti Foundation ensured community contribution in school development. It seemed very difficult in the beginning, but now we are confident that the increased community mobilization will be supporting our school processes further. The student clubs, house system, involving the community in the school activities, inter-school competitions, library, gallery walk, and school assembly, Bal Sabha, etc. will be continued with the same spirit. ”

Their evident confidence and the motivation to do more signaled towards sustainability.

The community members added more to appreciate Bharti Foundation’s work. They said “It is always a pleasure to contribute to the school development. We have supported the school in a few aspects like distributing prizes on Republic Day or by providing education volunteers for a few months etc. But after Bharti Foundation’s intervention, we became more aware of the need of us in the holistic school development. Our contribution might be very less as per the requirement but community support is always important for a school. We will ensure our support and stand with the school for further improvement”

The Satya Bharti Quality Support Program is designed in such a way that it winds up with a hope of sustainability in the school development process. The program creates a perpetual wheel framework by involving all the stakeholders with a well-equipped and trained Head Master in the center. At the conclusion of the exit ceremony, the teachers expressed their gratitude towards Bharti Foundation and wished for more schools to be added to the program.
