The Educational Rockstars of Uttar Pradesh

September, 2020: Following the trend of every year, this year as well, Bharti Foundation hosted its annual teachers’ awards – the Satya Bharti Educational Rockstar Achievers (SBERA) Awards – on the occasion of Teachers’ Day. Despite the challenges due to the outbreak of the pandemic, the celebrations of teachers’ day were as enthusiastic as every year. This year called to dedicate a bigger event in the laud of our teachers who, despite the difficult times, outshone their performances, and even brought about a transformation by preventing the outbreak of COVID-19 in their own capacities.

The SBERA Awards 2020 was a virtual event where teachers were recognised for their exemplary performances on pedagogical front as well as their voluntary actions towards safeguarding the children of the Satya Bharti Schools, their families as well as the community at large.

The first category under the SBERA Awards – the Teachers’ Subject Knowledge Test (TSKT) was extended to the Satya Bharti School Teachers who went over and above their scope of work towards acquiring competence and new skills through their hard work and determination. Under this category recognition was given to the teachers who are subject toppers and section toppers of Primary, Elementary and Secondary schools. For the Environmental Studies Paper under the Primary and Elementary School Subject Toppers, Mr. Ved Pal Singh from the Satya Bharti Schhol, Bari Khas, Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, was awarded.

To recognize the Satya Bharti School Teachers for their exemplary work in creating awareness, facilitation safety kits and distributing food supplies among the students, their families and the community members with regard to health, safety and hygiene guidelines to keep them safe during the pandemic, the Teachers’ Changemaker Awards 2020 were introduced this year. Prevention of outbreak through comprehensive awareness (BRONZE)

Anjalee Khushvaha from Gurgawan, Shahjahanpur: When Anjalee realized that a lot of people were not taking the COVID-19 pandemic seriously, she decided to develop short awareness videos on usage of masks, handwashing, practicing hygiene and social distancing. Anjalee’s videos had a huge impact on her community.

Prevention of outbreak through distribution of Safety Kits (SILVER)

Saurabh Pratap Singh from Gurgawan, Shahjahanpur: Moved by the plight of the underprivileged who could not afford to buy masks, Saurabh went the extra mile by making and distributing masks among them. He ensured that the marginalized in his community are protected from COVID-19.

Contributing and facilitating distribution of food supplies (BRONZE)

Rana from Sikanderpur, Shahjahanpur: Notwithstanding the many constraints and challenges in her way, Rana mobilized funds and resources to ensure that students and their families got food during the COVID-19-induced lockdown. This noble cause has been recognized by her community.

Prevention of outbreak through comprehensive awareness (SILVER)

Atul Kumar from Sikanderpur, Shahjahanpur: Atul leveraged digital platforms like WhatsApp, Zoom and Google Meet to reach out to the people of his community on precautions during COVID-19 times. He spread the message on use of masks and sanitizers, handwashing and social distancing by leveraging technology. Atul used creatives ideas for the awareness drive.

Prevention of outbreak through distribution of Safety Kits (BRONZE)

Prabha Devi from Marena Wanger, Shahjahanpur: Prabha used video chats to help people learn how to make masks at home. She took up this initiative realizing how important masks were in preventing the spread of the coronavirus. Prabha also ensured that people in her community are aware about COVID-19.

Job Description Academic Mentor

  • To support School Heads / Principals and strengthen the curriculum planning, delivery and class room transaction process for improved effectiveness.
  • To optimize usage and improvement of school’s infrastructure and facilities especially working toilets, functional library, computer labs, Science labs and energized classrooms.
  • To activate critical processes such as sports, drawing and other student cantered activities and events.
  • To smoothen academic operations throughout the year and also non-academic operations viz sports day, annual day, republic day, community volunteering, PTM etc.
  • To support teachers through interactive sessions.
  • To conduct subject wise week in schools for Science, English and Math linked with the annual curriculum.
  • To extend technical support to teachers on subject specific skills.
  • To support on difficult concepts and conduct specific need-based refresher training.
  • To extending support in planning the entire academic year including curriculum rollout, remedial, assessments and processes for ongoing monitoring and mentoring.
  • Candidates should aware about local language.
