The lockdown Super educator – Kanupriya

With the pandemic hitting us, the definition of normal has completely changed. Lives around the world have become digital. Every sector, every industry has now resorted to continuing their operations virtually. Amidst all this, there are also many challenges that are being dealt with. While many have been fortunate enough to sustain despite the hurdles, there are many families who have been finding it hard to deal with a certain concerns that we have been presented with. However, there are some people who are leaving no stone unturned to do everything in their power to make the lives of the lesser privileged easier.

Ms. Kanupriya (Head Teacher) SDMC Primary School Baprolla Village No. 1 (a partner Government school under the Satya Bharti quality Support Program) has been heading the school from past four years. She has been in the teaching profession since the past 23 years. She is very passionate about her profession and also compassionate towards her students and the community members.

During these testing times, she took up the responsibility of helping people in need around her. She approached a Bharti Foundation representative for suggestions on how she could help. During the discussion, they came up with a lot of ideas, which she later discussed with all her staff members and asked them to come forward and join the cause.

With the help of the members of the staff, she was able to raise funds to invest for those in need. The sum collected was then used to buy story books for students. Also, a few students were identified who didn’t have enough money to get their phones recharged but were otherwise very active and talented. These students were then provided a three-month data recharge packs so that they can continue with their online learning and also participated in various events, activities and competitions. A part of the amount was also used to help the ladies who had been previously employed with the school for distributing Mid-Day Meals to students and were currently out of job.

Kanupriya’s efforts paid off well as she was able to bring a change in the lives of her students and community members. It is efforts like hers that bring about a transformation in the community as a whole!
