Bharti Foundation’s flagship initiative – Satya Bharti School Program was launched in Punjab, with its first school being set up in August 2006 in Ludhiana East.
The program currently runs 86 Schools, providing free quality education to over 20,000 students (49% girls and 74% belonging to the less privileged families). More than 800 teachers, recruited from local and neighboring communities, are engaged in the schools to drive the larger movement of imparting quality education to rural children.
The Foundation is also running five Senior Secondary Schools in the villages of Sherpur Kalan, Rauni, Jhaneri, Fattubhila and Chogawan through a Public-Private Partnership model with the Punjab government under the Adarsh Scheme and are known as Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary Schools.
All the schools in the state are designed thoughtfully to promote expression, creativity and joyful learning among children. Separate toilets for boys and girls, CCTV surveillance, water and electricity connections, etc. are some of the provisions made available in every school. The senior secondary schools are equipped with Art Lab, Beauty & Wellness Lab, Computer Lab, Science Lab, and more to expose children to myriad skills and career opportunities.
