During the lockdown period, while our Satya Bharti School teams were promoting virtual teaching, they were also creating awareness among the students and their parents about the safety measures to be taken to prevent the spread of the pandemic. We conducted virtual Senior Management Committee meetings, Parents Teachers’ Meetings on digital platforms and online Orientation Sessions for the parents of our newly enrolled students. In this virtual connect with parents, community members and Panchayat members, we sincerely focused on issues related to the safety of our students, and promoted precautionary guidelines to fight COVID 19.
The Satya Bharti Schools are located in remote villages and the children coming to the schools mostly belong to underprivileged families. Many of these children are not in a position to afford precautionary supplies to fight against the coronavirus. In consideration with that, many of our school students, parents and community members came together and initiated a campaign to make masks at home for the children of the schools who can’t afford them. They made a lot of efforts to prepare homemade masks and virtually aware others parents to do the same.
|School Name||Total Number of Masks Made|
|Satya Bharti School, Cheema||60+|
|Satya Bharti School, Fatehpur||200+|
|Satya Bharti School, Sirthala||400+|
|Satya Bharti School, Gosal||80+|
|Satya Bharti School, Jogi Majra||160+|
Today, in five villages – Cheema, Fatehpur, Sirthala, Gosal and Jogi Majra, more than 800 masks are already prepared, ready to be donated and distributed. Every small action adds to a bigger movement of change and becomes an inspiration to our further course of action. We feel proud to be associated to communities that may be residing in remote villages, but are working together to bring about the transformation they aspire to see.
